Hong Kong doesn't issue Indian travellers a visa for short visits — instead you complete a free Pre-Arrival Registration online, then enter visa-free. The catch is that every detail must match your passport exactly, or you'll be refused boarding.

Common rejection reasons & how to avoid them
Details don't exactly match your passport
This is the one officially named cause of boarding and entry refusal. Name spelling, passport number, and date of birth must match character for character.
Travelling on a different passport than you registered
Your registration is bound to one specific passport. If you renew it, you have to register again before you fly.
Planning to stay longer than 14 days
Pre-Arrival Registration only covers visits up to 14 days. Anything longer needs a full entry visa applied for separately.
