The UAE offers several e-Visa options for Indian travelers, from a 30-day single-entry tourist visa to a 5-year multiple-entry visa for frequent visitors. All are processed entirely online through Dubai's GDRFA portal, typically within 48 hours β€” no embassy visit required.

Why people go

The UAE is the single most-visited destination for Indian travellers, and the reasons stack up: three-to-four hour flights from most Indian metros, dozens of daily departures, and an Indian community large enough that Hindi and Malayalam are widely spoken in shops and taxis. Indian food is everywhere and genuinely good, which makes it an easy first international trip for families and for parents travelling with young children. Weekend-length trips actually work here in a way they don't for Europe or East Asia, and the mix of beaches, theme parks, desert, and duty-free shopping covers very different travel styles in one itinerary.

Eligibility

Passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry
Traveling for tourism, leisure, or visiting family and friends
Standard 30/60-day tourist visas are issued through an accredited UAE airline, hotel, or travel agent, not applied for directly by individuals
5-year multiple-entry visa requires a 6-month bank statement showing at least USD 4,000 (or equivalent) and UAE-valid health insurance

Common rejection reasons & how to avoid them

Passport photo doesn't meet specification

Use a plain white background with no shadows, and avoid glasses or head coverings unless worn daily for religious reasons.

Name mismatch across documents

Make sure your name is spelled identically on your passport, flight ticket, and hotel booking.

Passport validity too short

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date.

Applying without an accredited sponsor

Standard 30/60-day tourist visas must be sponsored by an accredited UAE airline, hotel, or licensed travel agent β€” going in without one is a common cause of delay.

Frequently asked questions

R

Yes. All Indian passport holders need a visa or e-Visa to enter the UAE. UAE embassies don't issue tourist visas themselves β€” you apply through GDRFA, the ICP portal, an airline, a hotel, or a licensed travel agent.
