Why people go
Saudi Arabia has only recently opened to leisure tourism, and that novelty is much of the appeal — AlUla and Hegra deliver Petra-scale archaeology without Petra-scale crowds. For Indian travellers there is also a long-standing connection through work and through Umrah, and the tourist visa now permits Umrah for those who want to combine the two. Flights are short at four to five hours, there is a very large Indian expatriate population, and the country has invested heavily in new hotels, museums, and desert resorts. It suits travellers who want somewhere that does not yet feel routine.

Common rejection reasons & how to avoid them
No qualifying visa or residency
India isn't on the direct eligibility list, so you generally need a valid US/UK/Schengen visa or US/EU/UK/GCC residency. Without one, the service-centre route applies instead.
Applying for Hajj on a tourist visa
The tourist visa covers Umrah but explicitly excludes Hajj, which has its own separate permit process.

Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry warns against unauthorised intermediaries. We apply through the official channel.
