Vietnam's e-Visa is one of the simplest in the region — just a passport scan and a portrait photo, submitted online. Be careful which site you use: many lookalike domains charge extra, so we submit through the government portal at evisa.gov.vn.

Why people go

Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for Indian travellers, and the e-Visa is the reason it feels effortless — a passport scan and a photo, filed online, with no appointment or interview. Costs are genuinely low once you land: street food, hotels, and tailored clothing in Hoi An all go much further than the equivalent budget elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have expanded quickly, and Vietnam has actively courted Indian visitors, so Indian restaurants and Jain-friendly menus have followed. It also has genuine range for one country — karst bays, mountain rice terraces, ancient towns, and a delta.

Eligibility

Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of arrival
Applying from outside Vietnam — the e-Visa isn't available to foreigners already in the country
Entering and exiting through one of Vietnam's designated international border gates
Your e-Visa validity must end at least 30 days before your passport expires

Required documents

Upload each of these during your application — we check them for issues before anything is submitted.

What we do for you

Your Vietnam visa, in five moves

  1. You send

    your documents

Scan your passport with your phone. We read it automatically.

  2. We check

    every page

Against the rules that apply today — not last year's blog post.

  3. We flag

    what won't pass

You hear it from us, with time to fix it.

  4. We file

    at the embassy

And chase it, so you're never on hold to a hotline.

  5. It lands

    on time

Before you fly — or your service fee comes back.

Common rejection reasons & how to avoid them

Name doesn't match the passport machine-readable line

Vietnam requires your name entered exactly as it appears on the ICAO line at the bottom of your passport, in uppercase — this is the single most common cause of rejection.

Undeclared past immigration violations

You must declare complete travel history for the past year and any previous immigration violations — non-disclosure leads to denial.

Arriving at a non-designated border gate

e-Visas are only valid at Vietnam's designated international checkpoints — confirm your arrival airport or land crossing is on the list.

Yes. Indian passport holders aren't visa-exempt for Vietnam, and the e-Visa is the standard route for tourism.
