Why people go

Spain's popularity with Indian travellers has one overwhelmingly clear origin: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), made in direct collaboration with Spain's tourism agency and shot across the Costa Brava, Buñol's La Tomatina, Pamplona's San Fermín, Seville, Barcelona and Madrid. The effect was immediate and measurable — Indian arrivals roughly doubled the year after release, and the 'ZNMD road trip' is still one of the most requested itineraries for Indian friends-groups and honeymooners fifteen years on. Football is the second driver: Bernabéu and Camp Nou stadium tours pull serious Indian fan traffic. Practically, Spain also offers good vegetarian depth once you know what to order, Indian restaurant clusters in Barcelona's Raval and Madrid's Lavapiés, and high-speed rail that makes four cities in a week genuinely comfortable.
